Alcaraz wins the French Open 🏆
e
Spanish superstar Carlos Alcaraz has etched his name into the tennis record books after producing a fight back for the ages.
The 21-year-old battled cramps to recover from 2-1 down in sets and win a gripping contest 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 after 4 hours and 19 minutes on Court Philippe Chatrier.
Celtics take Game 2 ☘️
So the Celtics have taken care of business at home, but this one wasn’t easy. Luka Doncic looked like he was going to put on one of those legendary “hobbled player scores 48 points and inspires team to road victory” NBA Finals performances early on but Celtics managed to get the victory 105-98. Game 3 now heads to Dallas, Texas.
Thank you Hammer ✅
Fucking clinic is all I can say. And shoutout myself for the great bet.
Prediction vs Result - Origin 1 😬
The Maroons have made a statement in the State of Origin series opener, defeating the NSW Blues 38-10 at Accor Stadium last Wednesday night.
The game flipped on its head after just 7 minutes as Joseph Suaalii’s Origin dream quickly turned into a nightmare, with the young centre sent off after an unlucky high tackle on Maroons fullback Reece Walsh.
After the game was said and done, even as a Queensland supporter, I feel the referee should have used his judgement and only sent Suaalii for 10 minutes simply due to the fact that the game had only just started. I am still happy for his post game suspension to be upheld, but ultimately the decision ruined the game for both teams — Blues get to blame that on the loss, Maroons get their win discredited. If there was only 10-15 minutes to go in the game, I think it’s a send off every day of the week.
I know you could argue that the decision was consistent with other calls throughout the regular NRL season, but to say that State of Origin isn’t officiated differently each year is flat out naivety. Respectfully.
Our boys attack was second to none but how much of that do you put on them having 1 less player? I guess we will never know. We are going to be hard to beat for Game 2. White wash incoming?
Giveaway Winner 🥇
Congrats to Sonny Nancarrow for taking home the $100 Intersport Rockhampton voucher, $100 Mr Jerry cocktail voucher & $100 Dan Murphy’s voucher in our Guess Time of First Try Scorer giveaway.
Sonny’s guess was 04:30 and the first try went to Ben Hunt 12 seconds later at 04:42. Pretty fucking impressive haha. My personal prediction was that there would be no score until 20-30th minute, but hey, that’s Origin as they say.
Stay tuned for our next giveaway for Game 2.
