NRL Tipping Leaderboard - Rd 11

Magic Round 2024

The weekend kicked off with my not-so-hot Doggies playing the Raiders at beautiful Suncorp Stadium. The nail biter had all the action including 2 sin bins for Raiders within 4 minutes of each other which lead to the Bulldogs scoring 3 quick tries that looked like enough to secure the game. But as Raiders are known for, the comeback was on once their secret weapon Jordan Rapana returned from his stint in the bin and scoring another 2 tries to go with earlier 1 - final score Raiders win 24-20.

Many thought this game was going to be high scoring, but Manly vs Brisbane was anything but. Two early tries from Broncos caused some panic in Manly fans but after the 11th minute, the next try didn’t come until the 49th minute with a hit back from Reuben Garrick. The rest of the game was respectfully a snooze fest but Broncos came away with the magic round choccies when Jock Madden iced the game winning field goal in the 75th minute.

The game of the round hands down went to the Sharks vs Roosters game. If this game was a Grand Final, I would say it would have outdone Broncos vs Cowboys 2015 GF and even last years Cleary clinic GF. The game was a classic back and forth hit out with exciting tries coming from both ends. There were arial tries, acrobatic tries, assy tries (Will Kennedy 0’) and everything in between. Just some great rugby league for the full 80 minutes which is a rarity these days. Highly recommend watching the full match replay or even the match highlights if you didn’t catch the full game.
