Papali’i signs to Panther from 2025 ✍🏽

It’s official — Isaiah Papali’i shocks the NRL world and leaves his tenure at Wests Tigers early to join the Panthers from the start of 2025 on a three-year deal.

Look, I won’t get ahead of myself as the first half was genuine dust - too much lateral movement and not enough straightening up at the line. But the second half our lord and savour Toby Sexton showed everyone why he should have been in the side since Round 1. The Bulldogs went into half time down 12-6 which was a good result considering the terrible start. But there must have been some magic dust getting around the locker room at the half as the second half looked like a completely new game. Don’t say it, don’t say it, don’t say it.. (Doggies for Top 8?). Shit, I said it.

A few changes coming out of the QLD camp for Game 1 of the 2024 State of Origin. Most notable replacement being David Fifita not getting selected and Jayden Su’A coming into the squad. Cobbo coming off the bench is a smart move as he is versatile for injury replacement but many were saying he should have got a look over Taulagi. Another surprise that some punters didn’t see coming was picking Tom Dearden over your man, my man, Ezra Mam. Personally I think the bush poet (Billy Slater) is on the money here picking a calm head who is tried and tested in the Origin arean, rather than the new hot toy in town who can be hot and cold.

New coach Michael Maquire is looking into the future with his squad for the Blues with some massive changes after a disastrous past two campaigns with Freddy Fitler. The squad sees the departure of their captain James Tedesco with the addition of some new blood in Dyl Edwards. No matter what decision was made it was always going to be scrutinised, but I thought Teddy had done enough to hold his fullback spot for Game 1 with an ultimatum - win or your goneski brother. Despite this, Edwards more than deserves the call up as he has been arguably the best fullback in the game the last 3 seasons. Robson gets a look in for Game 1 over Api and Jake Trbojevic gets the mighty © next to his name which brings a new dynamic and energy to the team. No Latrell, no Foxx and Hynes in question with a calf injury from the weekends thrashing by Panthers.
